Can The Echo Dot Play Music?

The Echo has speakers suitable for listening to music on, while the Echo Dot has a speaker that is only good enough for the commands and alarms.

If you want to listen to music with the Dot, you’ll want to connect speakers to it.

I have 3 Echo Dots and I’ve grouped them around the house to play the same music.

How do I listen to music on Echo dot?

No you do not need Echo to use Dot, or Dot to use Echo. They are independent of each other. Generally speaking yes. I can’t find anywhere where it says if Dot is Bluetooth 2, 3, 4, 4.1 etc but ya generally speaking they’re all backwards compatible and should work.
